STATE COLLEGE, PA – DECEMBER 10, 2012 – PROGRESS DEVELOPMENT GROUP, LLC (“PDG”) – After over 30 months in the planning, today PDG is proud to announce it’s groundbreaking of “LIMEROCK COURT.” The project will begin construction immediately with a planed completion in December 2013. It will consist of 36 affordable apartments, including (18) two-bedroom and (18) three-bedroom units with amenities such as washers and dryers available in each unit. Limerock Court is located in College Township in Centre County, PA with the address of 234 Limerock Terrace. Financing for the project was made possible through the Pennsylvania Housing and Finance Agency’s (“PHFA”) low-income housing tax credit program.

 

Apartment rents will be set at 20%, 50% and 60% of Centre County’s average median income levels.  The project will have a centrally located, detached community center building with a large recreation area and kitchen facility and offices for both supportive services and Limerock Court’s management offices.

 

Senator Jake Corman, Representative Kerry Benninghoff, Councilman Michael Pipe and Brian Hudson, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the PHFA were among the list of over 35 local and state government representatives attendees. In addition, many others involved with the project such as architects, engineers, general contractors, financial partners and members of Centre County’s Housing Authority and pear organizations also attended the groundbreaking.

 

“We are so grateful for the support of all of our development team partners and community members, many of which have joined us here today”, said Ara M. Kervandjian, Managing Member of PDG. He added, “Together, they have all literally spent thousands of hours working to bring Limerock Court to fruition making today’s groundbreaking a reality.” Both Senator Corman and Brian Hudson made similar remarks to the crowd during the ceremony on behalf of the project and the desperate need it helps fill for affordable housing in Centre County region.
